According to court documents obtained by KTSM, the day before the fatal crash, a woman reported to police that Gonzales had attempted to sexually assault her and physically assaulted her at his residence. She mentioned that Gonzales had knives in his room and was using drugs such as crystal meth. The situation escalated when Gonzales broke the driver-side window of her vehicle out of anger for not taking him to purchase more drugs.
