Tragic Accident Claims Four Lives in Kakinada District

Tragedy struck in Kakinada district as four individuals lost their lives in a devastating accident involving an Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) bus. The incident occurred near Padalamma temple on the National Highway under Prathipadu police limits in the early hours of February 26. The victims, including a helper in the local temple, were fatally struck by the bus, resulting in their untimely demise.

Details of the Accident

Reports suggest that the accident took place at around 4:30 a.m. when three individuals were attempting to repair their stranded lorry. The lorry had come to a halt on the Highway after experiencing a punctured tyre. Tragically, the APSRTC bus collided with them, leading to the immediate fatalities.

Victims identified

The deceased have been identified as Dasari Kishore, Dasari Suresh, and Bandi Nagayya, all hailing from Bapatla district. The trio was on their way from Odisha to Bapatla when the unfortunate incident occurred. Additionally, Dimmi Lova Raju, an assistant to the main priest of Padalamma temple, also lost his life as he stepped out of the temple for a brief moment.

Police Investigation Underway

Prathipadu Circle Inspector Mr. Sekhar Babu provided insights into the tragic event, mentioning that the police have initiated an investigation into the matter. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Prathipadu area hospital for post-mortem examinations. A case has been registered, and the authorities are diligently working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the accident.
