Trinamool Congress Leader Shot Dead in West Bengal

A 49-year-old Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader from Ashoknagar in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district was tragically shot dead by a group of men in a shocking incident that has rocked the local community.

The incident occurred following an altercation over a land deal, according to police sources. The victim, identified as Bijan Das, was visiting the house of a party colleague when the fatal shooting took place.

Das, who held the position of deputy head of Guma 1 panchayat, was mercilessly shot twice at point-blank range. The first bullet struck his head, while the second pierced through his left ear, causing fatal injuries.

Despite efforts to save him, Das was declared brought dead upon arrival at Barasat Medical College and Hospital. The perpetrators of this heinous crime are currently on the run, prompting a thorough investigation by law enforcement authorities.
