Double Murder-Suicide in Goose Creek, South Carolina

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office in South Carolina has officially identified the victims of a tragic incident that has been classified as a double murder-suicide. The deceased have been named as Tracy McEvoy, aged 43, and her son, William Allen McEvoy, aged 15, both residents of Goose Creek.

The suspect in this case has been identified as Nicholas Hegwein, also 43 years old. All three individuals lost their lives as a result of gunshot wounds sustained during the incident.

Authorities were alerted to the situation when a distress call was made regarding a man with a firearm at a residence on Water Oak Drive in Goose Creek. The call indicated that the man, later identified as Hegwein, was under the influence of alcohol and was allegedly holding hostages at gunpoint.

Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers surrounded the property and attempted to establish communication with the suspect through hostage negotiators. Subsequently, the SWAT team from the Goose Creek Police Department entered the residence and discovered the bodies of two adults and a juvenile, all of whom had been fatally shot.
