Man Charged with Murder After Woman Found Dead in Mason County Home
UPDATE (Saturday at 10:40 p.m.) – The victim has been identified as Sara Smith, 54, of Point Pleasant, according to Mason County Prosecuting Attorney Seth Gaskins.
MASON COUNTY, WV (WOWK) – A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a deceased woman inside a residence in Mason County on Friday.
Ryan Keith Marshall is facing charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, and grand larceny in connection with the incident. He is currently being held at Western Regional Jail without bond.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a well-being check at a trailer in Point Pleasant around 1 p.m. on Friday. The call was made by a friend of the victim who expressed concern after not hearing from her for some time.

Upon arrival, deputies found the woman deceased inside the home. An arrest was made shortly thereafter in connection with the incident.
Although the victim has been identified as a woman in her 50s, her identity has not been publicly released at this time.
