Crime Spree Unfolds in George County, Mississippi

Over the weekend, residents of the Central community in George County, Mississippi, were left shocked and alarmed by a series of criminal activities that took place in their quiet neighbourhood. The George County Sheriff’s Office swiftly responded to the situation, resulting in the arrest of a 16-year-old suspect.

Drive-By Shooting Incident

The chaos began when deputies received a distress call regarding a drive-by shooting in the 200 block of Old Highway 26. Bullets pierced the walls of a home where a woman and her two children were present, fortunately, no injuries were reported. The senseless act left the community on edge, with residents fearing for their safety.

Phone Theft and Carjacking

Shortly after the shooting, another resident in the vicinity of Highway 26 and McGill Road fell victim to a phone theft. A suspicious individual knocked on the door, requesting to use the homeowner’s phone, only to snatch it and flee the scene. This unsettling encounter was just the beginning of a string of criminal activities that would unfold.

Later, deputies attempted to pull over a vehicle occupied by the teenage suspect and a driver who turned out to be the victim of a carjacking. Despite the victim’s brave escape, the young perpetrator took control of the vehicle and initiated a high-speed chase, which culminated in a dramatic rollover crash. The reckless actions of the teen placed countless lives at risk and left a trail of destruction in the community.

Charges Laid Against the Teen

Following his arrest, the 16-year-old from Lucedale now faces a series of serious charges, including shooting into a dwelling, motor vehicle theft, armed carjacking, possession of a stolen firearm, and fleeing law enforcement in a motor vehicle.
