According to Poole Funeral Home in Woodstock, visitation for Laken Riley will take place at Woodstock City Church from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 1. Following the visitation, the funeral service will commence at 2 p.m. with pastor Samer Massad officiating.

Tragic Circumstances

The heartbreaking incident unfolded when Riley went for a jog on the university’s intramural fields and failed to return. She was later found unconscious and injured in a wooded area behind the fields. Police identified Jose Antonio Ibarra, 26, as a suspect in the crime, shedding light on the devastating turn of events.

Riley, a nursing student at Augusta University campus in Athens, had a vibrant presence in the community. Her friends described her as a dedicated member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, known for her infectious smile and unwavering faith.
