Tragic Accident in Ringgold, Louisiana

In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 7-year-old boy named Kaiden Coke lost his life after being run over by a pickup truck in a parking lot in Ringgold, Louisiana. The incident occurred on the west side of Ringgold on Saturday, Feb. 24, around 11:30 a.m., according to Louisiana State Police.
Playing in the Parking Lot
Kaiden was playing with a ball in the parking lot when tragedy struck. The young boy accidentally lost his ball, and it rolled under a parked pickup truck. In an attempt to retrieve his beloved toy, Kaiden crawled under the truck, unbeknownst to the driver.

As the driver of the pickup truck started to pull out of the parking space, he tragically ran over Kaiden, who was still under the vehicle. The impact was fatal, and the young boy was pronounced dead at the scene by officials.
Investigation Underway
Authorities have stated that the driver did not appear to be under the influence or impaired at the time of the accident. However, toxicology samples were taken for testing as part of the ongoing investigation. Ringgold, a small town with approximately 1,400 residents, is located about 40 miles southeast of Shreveport.
