Young Man Injured in Orange City Apartment Complex Shooting
ORANGE CITY, Fla. – A 21-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a shooting incident at the Grandville apartments on Saxon Avenue in Volusia County on Saturday morning.

Orange City police were called to the scene around 11:24 a.m. following reports of a person being shot at the apartment complex.
According to authorities, the victim, identified as 21-year-old Gabriel Couso from Deltona, Florida, had arranged to meet with individuals he was familiar with in the parking lot of the Grandville apartments to discuss firearms.
During the meeting, an altercation broke out between Couso and the other individuals, resulting in Couso being shot in the abdomen. The suspects fled the scene after the incident.

Couso was quickly taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries, which were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Law enforcement agencies in the area were provided with descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. Shortly after, Daytona Beach police officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
“A 17-year-old male found in the vehicle was arrested for possession of a firearm by a person under 21 years of age,” the police statement revealed. Additional firearms were also discovered in the vehicle.
The investigation into the shooting incident is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Orange City Police Detective Berenice Martell at 386-775-9999.
