Accident – Death – Obituary News : An elderly man was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department for a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on Saturday night. The incident occurred on Van Nuys Boulevard near Remick Avenue in Pacoima around 10 p.m. when a silver Nissan Cube struck a man walking in the roadway.

The driver of the Nissan failed to stop, identify themselves, or render aid as required by law, according to LAPD officials. Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the victim, a 29-year-old Hispanic man, to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Arturo Sepulveda Carrera, a 70-year-old resident of Van Nuys, was arrested shortly after the crash and booked into the Van Nuys Jail on a charge of felony hit-and-run. His bail was set at $50,000.
LAPD reminds drivers involved in collisions to pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. Pedestrians are also reminded to obey the rules of the road and walk on designated walking areas such as sidewalks and crosswalks.
