Reckless Driver identified in Petersburg Police Chase

In a recent incident that took place in Petersburg, Virginia, an 18-year-old man has been identified as the reckless driver who evaded Virginia State Police from Chesterfield County. The driver, identified as Donovan T. Myrick of Petersburg, was accompanied by three teenage passengers during the chase.

High-Speed Chase Through Multiple Jurisdictions

The chase began when Myrick was spotted speeding at 88 mph in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 95 southbound in Chesterfield. A state trooper attempted to pull him over due to his excessive speed and improper vehicle registration. However, Myrick chose to flee, initiating a lengthy chase that crossed through multiple jurisdictions, including Chesterfield and Colonial Heights, before coming to an end in Petersburg.

Crash and Fleeing Suspects

The chase culminated in Myrick crashing his 2003 Infiniti G35 on Crater Road at Medical Park Boulevard in Petersburg. Following the crash, Myrick and three teenage passengers fled the vehicle. At present, Myrick and two of the passengers have been apprehended, with one teenager still at large. The two passengers in custody have not yet been charged.

Charges Faced by Myrick

Myrick is currently facing multiple charges, including reckless driving, felony eluding in Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, and Petersburg, driving with a revoked license, driving without insurance, failure to register a vehicle, and possessing forged license plates. The investigation is ongoing, with efforts to locate the remaining teenage passenger still underway.
