SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating another tragic shooting incident that took place in Wichita, resulting in the loss of two lives and the arrest of a suspect.

The Location of the Incident

The incident occurred at a motel in the 7300 block of E. Kellogg in Wichita, where police were called at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, as reported by Officer Kris Gupilan.

The Victims

Upon arrival, first responders discovered two individuals inside a motel room who were later identified as 35-year-old Christopher Harrell and 35-year-old Natisha Phillips, both residents of Wichita. Harrell was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries, while Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Child Involved

During the investigation, officers found a young child unharmed at the scene. Police are now providing the necessary support and resources to address any psychological or medical needs of the child.

The Arrest

Following a thorough investigation, a 20-year-old suspect was apprehended in connection with the incident. The suspect is currently in custody and will face charges including Capital Murder, Child Endangerment, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm, according to Officer Gupilan.
