WOODBRIDGE, Va. (7News) — Prince William County police are on the hunt for a hit-and-run driver following a tragic incident that resulted in the death of a 27-year-old woman in Woodbridge, Virginia.

On Saturday night, authorities received a distressing call regarding a pedestrian accident at the intersection of Minnieville Road and Bobcat Court. Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious woman lying in the middle of the road.

The victim, identified as Carla Andrea Mejia, had been walking in the westbound lane of Minnieville Road, clad in dark clothing, when she was struck by a passing vehicle. Shockingly, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene, leaving Mejia to succumb to her injuries.
