Wrong-Way Crash on U.S. Highway 101 Near Shelton Leaves One Dead, One Injured

A tragic incident occurred on Friday night on U.S. Highway 101 near Shelton, where a woman lost her life and a man was injured in a wrong-way crash, as reported by the Washington State Patrol.

Details of the Incident

The 52-year-old Oroville woman, identified as Brandy E. Johnson, was suspected of driving under the influence when she tragically lost her life at Mason General Hospital in Shelton. The man involved in the crash, a 22-year-old from Mexico, sustained injuries and was also taken to the same hospital for treatment.

The incident took place around 10 p.m. when the woman was driving south in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101 near Cloquallum Road. At the same time, the 22-year-old man was travelling northbound on the same highway. The collision occurred when the woman crashed head-on into the man’s vehicle, causing both vehicles to come to a stop on the road.

Emergency Response

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene of the crash, with both individuals being transported to Mason General Hospital for medical attention. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical personnel, Brandy E. Johnson succumbed to her injuries.
