Man Arrested in Santa Rosa for Brandishing Firearm While Driving

(KRON) – A man prohibited from gun ownership was taken into custody after he allegedly brandished a firearm while driving in Santa Rosa.

On February 23rd at 1:34 p.m., a man was travelling on the 3200 block of Coffey Lane when another individual in a black Chevrolet Silverado truck reportedly displayed a weapon at him. The driver decided to follow the Silverado to obtain the license plate number. Subsequently, the man reported the incident to the Santa Rosa Police Department, providing them with the license plate details.

Law enforcement officers were able to locate the pickup truck heading westbound on Piner Road. They conducted a traffic stop on the Silverado, citing probable cause for a search of the vehicle.

Santa Rosa Police Department

The search of the truck led to the discovery of two fully loaded firearms in the center console – a Springfield Armory XD 9-millimeter pistol and a Cimarron 357 caliber revolver.

The driver, identified as 37-year-old Eduardo Recinosoto from Van Nuys, was found to be prohibited from owning or possessing firearms. The reporting party positively identified Recinosoto as the individual who brandished the firearm, and further investigation by the police confirmed his prohibited status.

As a result, Recinosoto was arrested and charged with brandishing a firearm, making criminal threats, possession of a loaded firearm in a public place, possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm.
