28-year-old male : “Fatal California Highway 101 Crash Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured”

The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating a tragic incident that occurred on Salinas Highway 101, resulting in the injury of two individuals and the unfortunate death of one person on a Saturday morning.

Reports from the CHP indicate that a 1995 Toyota Camry was travelling southbound on Highway 101 with three occupants inside around 4:54 a.m. The vehicle, for reasons yet to be determined, failed to negotiate a curve on the road, leading to a loss of control and ultimately overturning. The Camry collided with the Laurel Drive exit sign following the incident.

Tragically, the driver and right rear passenger were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. All three individuals were rushed to Natividad Medical Center for urgent medical attention. Regrettably, the driver, a 28-year-old male from Salinas, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while the two passengers sustained serious injuries, as confirmed by the CHP.

The CHP has indicated that alcohol and drugs are suspected to have played a role in the crash. The passengers involved in the incident have been identified as a 29-year-old male and a 24-year-old male, both from Salinas.
