According to CHP reports, a 1995 Toyota Camry was travelling south on Highway 101 with three individuals on board. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle failed to navigate a curve in the road, causing it to lose control and roll over. The Camry ultimately collided with the Laurel Drive exit sign, leading to the tragic outcome.
Tragically, both the driver and the right rear passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, resulting in them being ejected from the vehicle. All three individuals were rushed to Natividad Medical Center for treatment, where the driver succumbed to his injuries. The two passengers, identified as a 29-year-old male and a 24-year-old male from Salinas, sustained serious injuries.
