Man Hacked to Death in Marsur Near Anekal

A tragic incident unfolded in Marsur near Anekal as a 27-year-old man, identified as Jayakumar, was brutally hacked to death by an armed group in the early hours of Sunday morning. The victim, who had recently been released on bail after being implicated in a murder case in 2017, was ambushed close to his residence.

According to police reports, Jayakumar received a phone call around 4 a.m. and ventured out of his house to attend it. Little did he know that a group of assailants lay in wait for him. Under the guise of initiating a conversation, the group led him a short distance away before launching a vicious attack.

Initially struck on the head with a wooden plank, Jayakumar fell to the ground, defenseless. The assailants then proceeded to unleash a frenzied assault with weapons, leaving him lifeless in a pool of blood. Passers-by stumbled upon the gruesome scene and promptly alerted the authorities.

Investigators suspect that the motive behind the heinous act stems from an age-old feud, with the attackers seeking retribution for the murder of a man named Manoj alias Bablu in 2017. The last phone call made to Jayakumar has provided crucial leads for the police in their pursuit of the culprits.

This tragic incident marks the second murder in Anekal within a span of two days, following the brutal slaying of a notorious criminal known as Mental Manja by a gang armed with deadly weapons. In light of these disturbing events, senior police officials are devising strategies to combat the escalating levels of criminal activity in the region.
