The fatal accident occurred at the construction site located at Cambie and 41st avenue, where Flores was struck by a falling load from the crane. The heart-wrenching news has prompted an outpouring of support for the family, with a GoFundMe campaign set up to help cover the costs of transporting Flores’s body to her hometown of Acapulco Guerrero.

Since its creation on Thursday, the fundraiser has already raised over 26 thousand dollars, a testament to the impact Flores had on those around her. The campaign, started by Flores’s grieving family, describes her as a devoted mother of two, including a 16-year-old son.

Eye-Witness Accounts Detail Terrifying Moments

According to witnesses at the scene, the load that fell from the crane was a construction table, which plummeted approximately 30 stories before striking Flores below. The incident prompted the evacuation of between 1,700 and 1,800 workers in the area, highlighting the scale of the tragedy.

One worker recounted the harrowing event, stating, “Just something broke loose from the crane and fell … roughly about 30 stories onto a person down below.” Another worker explained, “The table was being pulled out and, for whatever reason, it started spinning and it hit the side of the building. Once it hit the side of the building, the … piece that holds it to the crane came loose and it fell. It fell… and it came smashing all the way down.”
