Man Confesses to Murder of Deejay in Koh Pha-ngan, Thailand

A 37-year-old Moroccan man has admitted to the killing of a deejay following a heated argument after a night of partying on the island of Koh Pha-ngan in southeast Thailand, known for its famous Full Moon Party.

The body of 42-year-old Max Hartl was found near his home on Koh Pha-ngan with severe head and facial injuries, as reported by local newspaper The Nation Thailand.

The suspect, a friend of the victim identified as Anas Rakib, was taken into custody and questioned by senior police officials following the discovery of Hartl’s body.

Speaking out about the incident, Hartl’s sister, Martina Shelley, revealed that her brother had been hosting a gathering with friends before the tragic event took place. She believes that a disagreement may have escalated, leading to the fatal outcome.

Confession and Details

Deputy police chief Pol Colonel Sirichai Suksart confirmed that Rakib confessed to the crime, stating that the two men had been drinking together at Hartl’s house before the altercation occurred. Rakib claimed that he had attempted to leave but was prevented from doing so by Hartl, resulting in a physical altercation outside. He alleged that he used a metal object from Hartl’s truck to inflict the fatal injuries.

Sirichai stressed that Rakib is the primary suspect in the case and that investigations are underway to gather evidence for murder charges.

As the investigation progresses, authorities are working to uncover more details surrounding the tragic incident that has shocked the community on Koh Pha-ngan.
