Rajasthan Education Minister Suspends Teachers for Alleged Involvement in Religious Conversion

Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar announced in a video statement on Friday that two teachers from a government school in Kota district have been suspended for their alleged involvement in religious conversion. The minister also revealed that one teacher is currently under investigation in connection with the case.

Dilawar highlighted the incident in Khajoori village of Sangod panchayat samiti in Kota district, where a Hindu girl’s transfer certificate mistakenly listed her religion as ‘Islam’. The minister raised concerns about a potential conspiracy of religious conversion and ‘love jihad’ in the area, stating that Hindu girls are reportedly being coerced into offering namaz.

“As soon as this issue came to my attention, I took decisive action against three teachers involved. I have suspended Firoz Khan and Mirza Mujahideen, and further action is being taken against Shabana. They have all been transferred to Bikaner for further investigation, and I am prepared to terminate their employment if necessary,” Dilawar explained.

The suspension orders for Mirza Mujahid and Firoz Khan, who were posted at a school in Kota’s Sangod, were issued following the directives of Education Minister Dilawar. The action was prompted by a memorandum from the Sarva Hindu Samaj, Sangod, which reported ongoing religious conversion activities at the school since 2019. The memorandum also mentioned that a previous FIR had been filed at Sangod police station regarding the matter, but no action had been taken.
