IMPHAL: Tragedy struck in Manipur’s Imphal West district as one person lost their life and another was injured in a horrific IED explosion at the DM College complex on Friday night, as confirmed by local authorities.

The victim, a 24-year-old man named Oinam Kenegy, tragically succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital, while the other individual wounded in the blast is currently receiving treatment, with their condition reported to be serious.

No group or organisation has claimed responsibility for the explosive incident as of yet, leaving the authorities to investigate further into the matter.

Adding to the chaos, unidentified individuals set fire to the office of a prominent civil society organisation, United Committee Manipur (UCM), located at Lamphelpat in Imphal West district, causing significant damage to the property.

In a separate but equally disturbing development, vandals targeted and set ablaze the administrative section of a school in Imphal East district during the early hours of Saturday, around 12:45 am. Unfortunately, a vehicle parked on the premises also fell victim to the flames, compounding the destruction caused by the arson attack.
