Tragic Accident Claims Six Lives in Belagavi, Karnataka

Belagavi, a city located in the southern state of Karnataka, was struck by tragedy when a fatal road accident claimed the lives of six individuals on Datt Jamboti Road, approximately 90 km from the city centre. The incident, which occurred on a fateful Friday, left the community in shock and mourning.

The unfortunate event unfolded when a car collided with a parked two-wheeler, leading to a chain reaction that resulted in another two-wheeler being hit. The driver of the car reportedly lost control, causing the devastating crash that claimed the lives of five individuals at the scene. One additional victim, identified as Hanamant Malappa Malyagol, succumbed to injuries while receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital.

Among the deceased were Eknath Bhimappa Padtari (22), Mallikarjun Ramappa Marathe (16), Akash Ramappa Marathe (14), Laxmi Ramappa Marathe (19), and Nagapa Laxman Yadavannavar (48). The Murgod police have since registered a case regarding the accident, as authorities work to determine the cause and prevent future tragedies.

Bhimashankar Guled, the Superintendent of Police for Belagavi district, expressed deep concern over the recent surge in road accidents within the region. Over the past three days alone, a total of 25 lives have been lost in similar incidents, prompting a plea for motorists to adhere to traffic regulations, avoid speeding, and prioritise safety on the roads.
