Man Charged with Obstructing OPP Missing Person Investigation in Trent Hills

A man has been charged with obstructing an OPP missing person investigation in the Municipality of Trent Hills, Ontario, in September 2022.

Northumberland OPP reported that on September 18, 2022, officers discovered the body of a man on County Road 18 in Alnwick-Haldimand Township. The individual had been reported missing on September 8, 2022.

The victim was identified as Travis Nickerson, a 22-year-old resident of Hastings, Ontario.

False Information Provided

During the investigation into Nickerson’s disappearance, false information was provided, leading to the arrest of a suspect.

On February 21, 2024, OPP arrested Seth Gray, a 35-year-old resident of Roseneath, Ontario. Gray was charged with obstruction of justice and obstructing a peace officer.

He was held in custody and was scheduled to appear in court in Cobourg on February 22.

The OPP investigation involved several of its units working in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

OPP expressed gratitude towards the local community for their cooperation and assistance throughout the investigation.
