Five-Year-Old Girl Rescued and Accused Arrested in Dharavi Kidnapping Case
In a heart-wrenching incident in Mumbai, the Dharavi police successfully rescued a five-year-old girl who was kidnapped from the bustling streets of Dharavi. The culprit behind this heinous act, a tailor from Vithalwadi in Kalyan, was swiftly apprehended by the authorities on Wednesday.

Details of the Arrest
The arrested individual, identified as Razab Shabir Shah, aged 32, has been charged under the Pocso Act and has been placed in police custody for further interrogation and legal proceedings. The incident unfolded on February 20 when the young girl was innocently playing outside her residence in Dharavi, only to fall victim to Shah’s nefarious intentions.
Under the influence of alcohol, Shah abducted the child and transported her to Vithalwadi, where he kept her confined in a friend’s room. The meticulous efforts of the police led them to scour through CCTV footage from 90 feet road, as well as Sion and Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar railway station. The footage revealed Shah boarding a train from Sion and disembarking at Kalyan, which ultimately led to his apprehension.
Senior Inspector Raja Bidkar recounted the rescue operation, stating, “We received a tip-off from the Kalyan police that locals had brought a girl matching the description of the missing child from Dharavi. Accompanied by her distressed parents, we swiftly intervened and successfully rescued her from captivity.”
Allegations of Misconduct
Upon being rescued, the young girl bravely recounted the harrowing ordeal she had endured at the hands of Shah. She disclosed to the authorities that he had subjected her to inappropriate touching, further exacerbating the severity of the crime.
