Utica Police Department Responds to Two Disturbing Incidents in Utica, NY

The situation escalated as Dinh made movements suggesting he was armed, but officers were able to quickly subdue and detain him. Dinh is now facing charges of Making a Terroristic Threat and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree, in addition to the traffic violations.

Second Incident: Axe-Wielding Man Causes Damage at Kennedy Plaza

Later that same evening, Utica Police responded to reports of a man wielding what appeared to be an axe and causing damage to doors at the Kennedy Plaza apartment buildings. Upon arrival, officers found a resident barricaded inside his apartment, fearing for his life due to the significant damage to his door. After securing the scene and speaking with witnesses, the police identified and apprehended 51-year-old Adrian Stevenson from Utica without any further incident. However, the alleged weapon was not found at the scene. Stevenson has been charged with Criminal Mischief in the third degree for the damage caused during his rampage.
