Man Faces 45 Years in Jail After Shooting Incident in Clermont County
In a recent incident in Clermont County, Kentucky, a man named Brett Owens, 41, has been indicted on multiple charges after a woman was shot on February 18. If convicted on all charges, Owens could potentially spend 45 years in jail, according to Clermont County Prosecuting Attorney Mark Tekulve.
Details of the Incident
The incident unfolded with a 911 call that was made around 1 a.m. in Union Township. A person reported that an armed man, later identified as Owens, was banging on their home’s door on Redwood Court. The caller provided a description of the suspect before he fled the scene in an SUV.
Upon police arrival at the Redwood Court home, they discovered the victim had been shot five times. Fortunately, the victim is expected to recover from the injuries sustained in the attack.
Arrest and Confession
After the shooting, Union Township police were able to track down Owens, who claimed to be at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The 41-year-old suspect confessed to shooting the victim, leading to his arrest at the airport.
Owens is currently being held in custody in Boone County, awaiting extradition back to Ohio. It remains uncertain whether Owens will waive extradition in this case.
