In a tragic incident near the Israeli settlement of Maale Adumim in the occupied West Bank, a man has been killed and seven others wounded in an attack by three Palestinian gunmen. The attackers got out of a car at a checkpoint and opened fire with automatic weapons on vehicles waiting in a traffic jam.
Police Response
Israeli police swiftly responded to the attack, killing two of the gunmen on the spot while the third was wounded and later arrested. The swift action of the authorities prevented further casualties and brought the situation under control.

The national security minister emphasized the need for more weapons for Israeli civilians for protection, while another politician called for the immediate approval of plans for thousands more homes in settlements like Maale Adumim.
