Temporary Halting of Protest

The farmers’ march was temporarily halted for two days following clashes at Khanauri, where a protester lost his life and several police personnel were injured. The deceased protester was identified as Shubhkaran Singh, a 21-year-old resident of Bathinda district in Punjab.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated that the next course of action will be decided on Friday evening. The farmers in Punjab are also advocating for the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission’s recommendations, pension for farmers and farm labourers, and various other demands related to the welfare of the agricultural community.
