Tragic Shooting Incident in Onancock, Virginia

Onancock, Virginia: In a tragic turn of events, the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received a distressing report on February 13, 2024, at approximately 8:32 p.m. regarding shots fired in the vicinity of the 26000 block of Stumpy Lane, Onancock, Virginia.

Upon the prompt arrival of deputies at the scene, a disturbing discovery awaited them – an unresponsive male, identified as Rashaun Anthony Brown, aged 26 and a resident of Onancock, was found with apparent gunshot wounds. Regrettably, despite all efforts, Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Accomack County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Onley Police Department, Melfa Volunteer Fire Department, and the Accomack County Department of Public Safety, swiftly mobilized to manage the situation and secure the area.
