Multiple Criminals Killed in Violent Encounters Across Karachi

In a series of violent incidents that shook Karachi on Wednesday, half a dozen suspected robbers met their demise in separate encounters with law enforcement agencies. These encounters, occurring in various localities of the metropolis, resulted in the loss of lives, including that of a teenage boy caught in the crossfire in Korangi.

Tragic Loss in Korangi

The incident in Korangi unfolded when two suspected robbers engaged in a confrontation with the Awami Colony police at Coast Guard Chowrangi. The robbers, identified as Rab Nawaz and Saad, refused to stop when signaled by the police and instead opened fire. The exchange of bullets ultimately led to the death of Rab Nawaz on the spot, with Saad succumbing to his injuries later. Tragically, the innocent bystander caught in the crossfire, fourteen-year-old Kashan, lost his life due to excessive bleeding.

According to eyewitnesses, Kashan, who had been working at a tyre puncture shop for four years, was tragically struck by a stray bullet while attending to his duties. Despite efforts to rush him to a hospital, the delay proved fatal, highlighting the chaotic and unpredictable nature of such encounters.

Additional Encounters Result in Further Deaths

Elsewhere in the city, additional encounters led to the demise of four other suspected robbers. In the old city area, two robbers were killed near Sheesha Market during a police chase, resulting in injuries to a policeman. In Federal B. Area, another suspected robber, Kashif, was gunned down, while his accomplice, Waseem, was arrested in a wounded state. The Central SSP confirmed the recovery of weapons and a motorcycle from their possession.

In a separate incident, the Khawaja Ajmir Nagri police shot dead a suspected robber, identified as Ashraf Barkat, in North Karachi. The recovery of weapons and other incriminating items further underscored the criminal activities being carried out in the city.

Robbery Turns Fatal in Shah Faisal Colony

The violence in Karachi culminated in a tragic incident in Shah Faisal Colony, where an armed robbery resulted in the loss of a man’s life. Javed Iqbal, 55, was fatally shot by two robbers while purchasing chicken meat from a local shop. The assailants, demanding his cell phone at gunpoint, unleashed a hail of bullets, also injuring teenager Mohammad Ali in the process.

As investigations continue into the motive behind the robbery and subsequent shooting, the community remains on edge, grappling with the repercussions of such brazen criminal acts. The incidents serve as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by law enforcement in maintaining peace and order in Karachi.
