Man Arrested in Connection to Fatal Shooting in Casper

The Casper Police Department announced today that a Natrona County man has been taken into custody in relation to the tragic shooting that occurred in Casper on Feb. 2, resulting in the untimely death of 30-year-old Brandon A. Lopez.

Details of the Arrest

Rajion L. Vu, a 25-year-old individual, is facing charges of second-degree murder, a crime that carries a sentence of 20 years to life imprisonment. The authorities revealed that Vu was initially apprehended on Feb. 5 for other offenses but was later linked to the fatal shooting through a series of interviews, search warrants, and video surveillance.

Connection to Drug Deal

According to the police statement, the shooting incident was believed to be tied to a drug deal involving marijuana. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge once the affidavit is made public. Vu made his initial court appearance today at 2:00 p.m. in circuit court and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in approximately 10 days.
