Lucknow: A religious leader has been taken into custody, while his sibling is being pursued by authorities in connection with the brutal assault of an eight-year-old girl in Lucknow.

Details of the Incident

The victim’s father lodged a complaint at the Malihabad police station, alleging that his daughter had been sexually assaulted by two individuals who work as instructors at a madrasa in the area. The accused have been identified as Mohammed Abedin and his brother, Mohammad Arshad.

Legal Action Taken

The police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under section 376D of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to gang rape, in addition to invoking provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Abedin and the victim’s mother have been apprehended under section 34 of the IPC, citing common intention, while Arshad is currently evading arrest.

Shocking Revelation

It has come to light that the victim’s mother was romantically involved with Abedin and was reportedly aware of the heinous crime committed against her own daughter.

Concerned Father’s Action

The victim’s father, who works in a Gulf country and had been away for eight months, was informed about the incident upon his return. He promptly approached the authorities to seek justice for his daughter.
