Woman Allegedly Thrashed to Death by Husband During Son’s Birthday Celebrations in Mauganj District
A tragic incident unfolded in Mauganj district when a 24-year-old woman, Kavita Vishwakarma, was allegedly thrashed by her husband in front of relatives during her 2-year-old son’s birthday celebrations. The unfortunate turn of events led to her untimely death at Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Rewa.

The incident took place on February 18 in Arjunnagar village under Hanumana police station. The woman succumbed to her injuries on February 19 while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police Investigation Underway
A case of unnatural death has been registered at the police outpost in Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Rewa. Mauganj police are awaiting the case diary to proceed with their investigation. The cause of death will be determined once the autopsy report is received, according to officials.
Pragya Patel, the in-charge of Hanumana police station, shared, “Prima facie, it is believed that the woman was thrashed by her husband, who was allegedly in an inebriated state during their son’s birthday celebration. He even prevented others from taking her to the hospital. There are reports that the accused also assaulted his own father when he tried to intervene and protect the woman. However, these are preliminary findings, and a thorough investigation is underway.”
