Man Arrested for Mail Theft at Coos Bay Home

In a recent incident in Coos Bay, Oregon, a man was arrested for mail theft after being caught at the scene of a reported burglary in progress. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at a home on Isthmus Heights Road in Coos Bay on February 20.

Response to Burglary in Progress

Deputies arrived at the scene at 5:48 p.m. and found the suspect, Gage C. Campbell, 27, a short distance away from the home. Upon reviewing surveillance footage from the homeowner’s camera, deputies observed Campbell inside the garage, going through the homeowner’s belongings.

Discovery of Stolen Mail

During an interview with Campbell, deputies found that he was in possession of mail and other items that did not belong to him. As a result, Campbell was arrested and taken to the Coos County Jail, where he faces charges of first-degree burglary, mail theft, and second-degree attempted theft.

As of February 21, 2024, Campbell remains in custody at the Coos County Jail. The incident serves as a reminder to always be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities.
