Local Pastor Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Child in Riverside County
A local pastor, identified as David Helbling, 79, was recently arrested by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department for the alleged sexual assault of a child in Riverside County. The arrest came after deputies responded to reports of a previous child sex assault that took place on the 23000 block of Hemlock Avenue in Moreno Valley.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the juvenile victim had been assaulted by Helbling. The authorities have not disclosed the victim’s age or gender for privacy reasons.
Following the initial reports, deputies conducted a search of the Moreno Valley property on Feb. 14, where evidence related to the assault was collected. As a result, Helbling was taken into custody on multiple felony charges related to the crimes against the juvenile victim. He is currently being held on $2 million bail.
