According to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, detectives discovered that the victim, a juvenile, had been assaulted by a local pastor named David Helbling, a 79-year-old resident of Moreno Valley.

On Feb. 14, deputies executed a search warrant at the same address where the alleged assault took place and arrested Helbling. The search yielded evidence related to the crime, and Helbling was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held on $2 million bail on multiple felony charges associated with the crimes committed against the child.
