Accident – Death – Obituary News : Delaware State Police have apprehended a 19-year-old individual identified as Aaron Rambert from Newark, Delaware, in connection with a stolen vehicle incident. The arrest took place on February 19, 2024, following a report of a stolen Toyota RAV4 from the parking lot of a Wawa store located at 970 Christiana Road in Newark.

According to officials, the vehicle was left unattended with its engine running while the driver went inside the store. Upon returning, the driver discovered that the Toyota had been stolen by an unidentified individual dressed in black. Surveillance footage confirmed the theft and provided a description of the suspect.

After conducting a thorough investigation, a trooper managed to locate the stolen Toyota parked in the vicinity of the 800 block of Village Circle in Newark. Upon approaching the vehicle, the trooper observed a man fitting the suspect’s description seated in the driver’s seat. Additionally, a strong odour of marijuana was detected emanating from the vehicle. The suspect, later identified as Aaron Rambert, initially refused to comply with the trooper’s instructions and resisted arrest when the trooper attempted to apprehend him. Following a brief struggle, Rambert was successfully taken into custody.

Subsequent searches conducted on both Rambert and the stolen vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia and approximately 1.85 grams of marijuana. Rambert was then transported to Troop 2 and charged with several offenses, including theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest, consuming a personal use quantity of marijuana in public areas, loitering, and possession of a personal use quantity of marijuana under the age of 21.

Rambert was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and subsequently released on his own recognizance pending further legal proceedings. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of securing vehicles and adhering to safety protocols to prevent theft and criminal activities..
