Accident – Death – Obituary News : Police have successfully captured a suspect believed to be responsible for a carjacking incident near Gar-Field Senior High School in Woodbridge, as reported on February 18. The suspect was apprehended by officers following a foot pursuit that occurred at 5:40 p.m.

The carjacking incident took place on February 11 at 5:55 p.m. in the 14200 block of Smoketown Road in Woodbridge. According to initial reports, an 18-year-old man was accosted by a group of individuals, one of whom has been identified as the suspect. The victim had provided the suspect and others with a ride, only to be targeted for robbery shortly after. The situation escalated when the suspect and another individual pursued the victim to the median area of Smoketown Road, resulting in a physical altercation where the suspects forcibly took the victim’s belongings, including phones, wallet, and keys.

Fortunately, a Good Samaritan intervened, preventing further harm to the victim. However, the suspects managed to escape in the victim’s vehicle, which was later found abandoned near Westminister Lane in Lake Ridge. The suspects were at large until Ibrahim Barrie Jr., 18, of 14615 Earlham Court in Dale City, was apprehended. Barrie Jr. is facing charges including carjacking, robbery, and fleeing from law enforcement. He is currently being held without bond, awaiting a court date.
