Man Arrested in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Nutley

Last week, a tragic incident occurred in Nutley, New Jersey, when a fatal hit-and-run claimed the life of a Paterson resident. The incident took place around 7 p.m. on Feb. 14 near the Garden State Parkway overpass on Milton Avenue, as confirmed by Nutley police.

According to reports from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, one of the pedestrians involved in the hit-and-run was Wiston Perlaza, a 22-year-old from Paterson. Perlaza was rushed to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where he was sadly pronounced dead at 7:12 p.m. Another pedestrian sustained serious injuries but is expected to recover.

Arrest Made in Connection with the Hit-and-Run

Authorities have identified the suspect as Dhkir Robinson, a 42-year-old individual who has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Death, Operating a Motor Vehicle Resulting in Death With a Suspended License, and Endangering an Injured Victim.
