Man Arrested in Florida for Shooting Incident in Jones County, Mississippi

In a recent development, the suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in Jones County, Mississippi, has been apprehended in Florida. The Jones County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the arrest of James Tickner, a resident of Taylorsville, in connection with the tragic incident that took place on Sunday afternoon.

Arrest and Extradition Process

James Tickner was taken into custody by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department in Florida on Monday. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Jones County to face charges related to the shooting.

Victim Identification

The victim of the shooting has been identified as 33-year-old William Leo Busker from Laurel, Mississippi. The Jones County Sheriff’s Department has informed the next of kin about the unfortunate demise of Busker.

Location and Incident Details

The shooting incident took place in the 300 block of Shiloh Church Road in Jones County, Mississippi. Upon responding to a shots fired call, the first deputy on the scene found Busker with gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to revive him, Busker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide Investigation

The investigation into Busker’s death is being treated as a homicide case by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department. Investigator Cody Pitts is leading the efforts to gather more evidence and information surrounding the tragic incident.
