Suspect Arrested in Connection with Double Homicide at University of Colorado – Colorado Springs
Authorities have apprehended a suspect on Monday in relation to the tragic double homicide that took place at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, as confirmed by the police.
The devastating incident unfolded when two individuals were discovered shot dead inside a dormitory room on Friday, according to law enforcement officials.
In a statement released by the Colorado Springs police, it was emphasized that the shootings appeared to be a targeted attack involving individuals who were acquainted with each other, rather than a random act of violence against the university or its student body.
At present, the identity of the suspect has not been disclosed by the authorities.
The victims have been identified as 26-year-old Celie Rain Montgomery from Pueblo, Colorado, and 24-year-old Samuel Knopp from Parker, Colorado, as confirmed by the Colorado Springs Police Department. Knopp was enrolled as a student at the university, whereas Montgomery was not currently registered, as per police reports.
