Tragic Shooting Incident in Claxton, Georgia

EVANS COUNTY, Ga. – A tragic shooting incident has rocked the small town of Claxton, Georgia, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving two others injured. The incident took place at the Relax Inn on US Highway 301, sending shockwaves through the community.

Details of the Incident

The shooting took place in the early hours of Feb. 14, with authorities receiving 911 calls alerting them to the situation. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers found four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, two of the victims, identified as Shalonde A’Jessica Stevens, 27, and Taylor Samone Clark, 26, both from Statesboro, succumbed to their injuries.

Arrest Made in Connection with the Shooting

Following an intensive investigation, Celeste Denise Adams, a 23-year-old resident of Waynesboro, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in connection with the shooting. Adams faces a range of charges, including two counts of murder, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. She has since turned herself in to the Evans County Sheriff’s Office.
