identified Victims in University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Dorm Shooting
Following a tragic incident at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, the victims of the fatal dorm room shooting have been identified as Samuel Knopp, a 24-year-old student at the university, and Celie Rain Montgomery, 26, who was not enrolled in the institution.
The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed the identities of the deceased as they continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) campus was shaken when the UCCS Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at Crestone House, an on-campus dormitory, at 6:00 a.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, police discovered the bodies of Knopp and Montgomery in the dorm room where the incident occurred.
In light of the situation, the Colorado Springs Police Department took over the investigation, working to piece together the events leading up to the tragic event.

The university campus was placed on lockdown as authorities sought to ensure the safety of students and faculty. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have ruled out the possibility of a murder-suicide scenario.
According to police statements, initial findings suggest that the incident was isolated and involved individuals known to each other, rather than posing a threat to the wider university community.
University Mourns Loss of Students
In the wake of the tragedy, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs announced the closure of its campus over the weekend, with classes being canceled on Monday.
Chancellor Jennifer Sobanet expressed her condolences and urged the campus community to come together in support of one another during this difficult time.
Sobanet highlighted Knopp’s contributions to the university as a senior studying music, describing him as a talented guitarist and musician.
Despite not being a student, Montgomery’s presence will be deeply missed within the campus community, Sobanet added.
The recent shooting incident comes in the wake of another tragedy on campus, with the passing of nursing student Mia Brown just a week prior. The campus has been left reeling from these successive losses, prompting a period of mourning and reflection.
