Details of the Incident
The murder took place on January 18 in the 5200 block of South Grand Boulevard near Walsh Street. The victim, Rion Robinson, was found the following morning next to a laundromat. He was pronounced dead at the scene, with the medical examiner determining that Robinson had been shot in the torso and thigh. Shockingly, detectives believe Robinson was alive for approximately 13 hours before succumbing to his wounds.

Police claim that Robinson’s killing was a setup orchestrated by three men. Anthony Hill reportedly inquired about Robinson’s whereabouts at a business in the area, which was operated by co-defendant Calvin Anderson. Later that day, Hill and another individual, Tyrell Henley, confronted Robinson at the business. Surveillance video allegedly shows Hill and Henley assaulting Robinson outside a vacant storefront, with Anderson filming the incident on a cellphone. Hill then proceeded to shoot the victim multiple times.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Anthony Hill was charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm, while Calvin Anderson was charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, tampering with physical evidence, and third-degree assault. Both men are currently in custody without bond.
Tyrell Henley, the third suspect, was charged with second-degree murder, third-degree assault, armed criminal action, and tampering with physical evidence. He will remain jailed until his trial.
