Man Arrested in Connection to University of Colorado Colorado Springs Shooting
A man from Detroit has been taken into custody in connection to a shooting incident that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in a dormitory at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs over the weekend.
The Colorado Springs Police Department confirmed that the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Jordan, was apprehended on Monday morning following the tragic incident.
Authorities were alerted to the situation around 6 a.m. on Friday when reports of gunshots emanating from a dormitory on the university campus surfaced. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered the lifeless bodies of an adult female and an adult male inside the dormitory.
Following the discovery, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Jordan on Friday evening, prompting a search effort by the police. The suspect was eventually located and taken into custody on Monday morning.

The victims have been identified as 26-year-old Celie Rain Montgomery from Pueblo, CO and 24-year-old Samuel Knopp from Parker, CO. Their deaths are currently being investigated as homicides.
As a precautionary measure, a lockdown was implemented on Friday morning for approximately 90 minutes, which was later confined to a student apartment complex. Subsequently, classes at the university were cancelled on Monday.
With a student body exceeding 11,000 individuals and a faculty and staff count nearing 2,000, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs is now grappling with the aftermath of this devastating event.
