Body of 60-Year-Old Man Found in Rock River identified as Larry Sanford
The tranquil waters of the Rock River in Rockford, Illinois, turned into a scene of tragedy on Sunday afternoon when the body of a 60-year-old man was discovered floating in the river. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the deceased as Larry Sanford, a resident of Rockford.

Discovery of the Body
First responders were alerted to the grim discovery around 3 p.m. in the area of Indian Terrace in Rockford. Rockford Police and Rockford Fire personnel swiftly arrived at the scene. Fire department personnel bravely entered the river and determined that the body was that of an adult male. With solemn respect, they carefully removed the deceased from the river. The Coroner’s office staff officially pronounced Mr. Sanford dead at 3:35 p.m.
