Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre has confirmed the arrest of an 18-year-old Lockport man, Tre’ Booty, in connection with a tragic stabbing incident that occurred on Sunday. The victim, identified as Hunter Parks, a 20-year-old resident of Larose, lost his life following the altercation.

The harrowing incident took place at approximately 12:20 p.m. on February 18, 2024, on Adams Street in Mathews. Upon receiving a distress call regarding a stabbing, deputies swiftly responded to the scene. Booty, the suspected assailant, was apprehended in a nearby vehicle with visible traces of blood on his clothing. He was promptly taken into custody for further investigation. Meanwhile, Parks was discovered with multiple stab wounds, predominantly in the torso. Despite the deputies’ efforts to administer first aid, the victim, sadly identified as Parks, succumbed to his injuries.

In the course of their inquiry, detectives ascertained that Parks was at his mother’s residence when Booty arrived, leading to a confrontation that turned violent. Allegedly, Booty wielded a weapon and inflicted severe injuries on Parks, ultimately resulting in his untimely demise.

Following his arrest, Booty was remanded to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex in Thibodaux. He has been formally charged with second-degree murder, with bail set at $500,000.
