Colorado Campus Shooting: Suspect Arrested for Double Homicide

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) – Authorities in Colorado have apprehended a suspect in connection with a tragic incident of double homicide on a college campus.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Nicholas Jordan, hailing from Detroit, Michigan.

Following the issuance of an arrest warrant on Friday evening, Jordan was successfully located and taken into custody without any resistance in the early hours of Monday morning. He is set to face two charges of first-degree murder.

Amidst the ongoing investigation, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) released a statement affirming their commitment to thorough examination, stating, “Detectives are tirelessly working on the case, and we have deliberately limited the flow of information to the public in the initial 48 hours of the investigation.”

The tragic incident unfolded when authorities responded to a distress call from the campus shortly before 6:00 am, reporting gunshots heard within a dormitory. Upon arrival, two individuals were discovered deceased, each having sustained at least one gunshot wound. The victims have been identified as 26-year-old Celie Rain Montgomery and 24-year-old Samuel Knopp, both residents of Colorado.
