Man Arrested in Connection with Double Shooting at University of Colorado – Colorado Springs

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the tragic double shooting that occurred at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs. The victims have been identified as Celie Rain Montgomery of Pueblo and Samuel Knopp of Parker.

Nicholas Jordan was taken into custody without incident after police found him in a vehicle at Cliff Point Circle East, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. A booking photo of Jordan will be released once he is processed into El Paso County Jail. The investigation into the double shooting is ongoing, and Jordan faces two counts of first-degree murder.

Victims Identified as Student and Single Mother

Samuel Knopp, a senior at the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs, was a talented musician studying in the Visual and Performing Arts department. Celie Rain Montgomery, a single mother of two daughters, was a freelance health and wellness copywriter in the holistic wellness space.

Knopp and Montgomery were found with gunshot wounds to the head, prompting a campus-wide lockdown. The cause and manner of their deaths have not yet been released by the coroner’s office.
